Our Farm, Our Family, Our Legacy

A Modern Farm Rooted in Prairie Tradition

Schräfl Farms is a certified organic grain operation located in the heart of Saskatchewan, Canada. Spanning 5,200 acres of fertile prairie land, we grow a diverse rotation of organic crops including hard red spring wheat, canola, flax, oats, barley, and lentils.

Our operation combines time-honoured farming wisdom with modern precision agriculture technology — using GPS-guided equipment, soil health monitoring, and data-driven crop planning to maximize both yield and sustainability.

Generations

From Homestead to Heritage Farm

1932

Heinrich Schräfl emigrates from Bavaria and homesteads 320 acres near Humboldt, Saskatchewan. The first crops of wheat and oats are sown.

1932

Second generation takes over. The farm expands to 1,200 acres as neighbouring land becomes available. Modern equipment replaces horse-drawn implements.

1989

Third generation begins transitioning to organic practices, recognizing the long-term value of soil health over chemical inputs.

2001

Full organic certification achieved. The farm grows to 3,800 acres and begins selling to premium organic grain buyers across North America.

2018

Fourth generation joins the operation. FARMAX precision agriculture software is adopted. The farm reaches its current 5,200-acre footprint.

Certified Organic Since 2001

Our organic certification through Pro-Cert Organic Systems means every acre we farm meets the highest standards for organic production. We undergo annual audits, maintain detailed field records, and follow a strict crop rotation designed to build soil health naturally.
